Laboratory of Geodesy
The Laboratory of Geodesy supports the teaching and applied research of the Department of Civil Engineering in geodesy, surveying and topographic measurement. It combines field practice with the use of modern geodetic instrumentation, covering topographic surveys, levelling, the establishment and computation of control networks, tacheometry and the production of topographic maps and plans.

Introduction - Presentation
The Laboratory of Geodesy supports the teaching and applied research of the Department of Civil Engineering in geodesy, surveying and topographic measurement. It combines field practice with the use of modern geodetic instrumentation, covering topographic surveys, levelling, the establishment and computation of control networks, tacheometry and the production of topographic maps and plans.
Field of Research
Solving fundamental geodetic problems; topographic surveys and the measurement of angles, distances and height differences with modern geodetic equipment; geometric and trigonometric levelling; establishment, traversing and computation of geodetic networks; production of topographic plans and contour lines; reading of topographic maps; tacheometric surveys and the setting-out of engineering works.
