Call for proposals 2025 – Media Literacy (CREA-CROSS-2026-MEDIALITERACY)

Objectives

The call under the Creative Europe Programme’s cross-sectoral strand aims to encourage innovative cross-border media literacy projects and practices across Europe. It focuses on collaborative projects with clearly defined objectives to advance media literacy and to respond to a continuously changing digital media landscape. Priorities include enabling citizens to develop a critical approach to media and to recognise and appropriately react to disinformation and information manipulation; scaling up best practices from innovative projects across cultural, national, and linguistic borders; and strengthening collaboration among regions.

Proposals should be based on a needs analysis covering target countries and groups, mapping existing initiatives, and explaining how activities will address identified challenges. Cooperation with European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) regional hubs is encouraged to share good practices and avoid overlaps. Eligible activities range from creating and distributing multilingual and multicultural material and tools, to training for citizens, educators, and content creators, public events and workshops, and community-led actions that make tools accessible. Projects should normally last up to 24 months and must be submitted by a consortium of at least three independent entities from three different eligible countries. Expected impacts include pan-European consortia that scale up media literacy tools and actions and strengthen societal resilience, including resilience against attempts to interfere with citizens’ free choice and participation in democratic processes.
