The Laboratory of Highways, Pavements and Road Safety belongs to Division of Trasportation Engineering and supports teaching and research activities in the following three main pillars: (a) geometric road design, (b) pavement structural design (materials, pavement loading, pavement distress and deterioration), and (c) road operation and performance (pavement evaluation and maintenance, road safety from an infrastructure perspective).

The Laboratory of Highways, Pavements and Road Safety belongs to Division of Trasportation Engineering and supports teaching and research activities in the following three main pillars: (a) geometric road design, (b) pavement structural design (materials, pavement loading, pavement distress and deterioration), and (c) road operation and performance (pavement evaluation and maintenance, road safety from an infrastructure perspective).

Field of Research

The Laboratory of Highways, Pavements and Road Safety covers the following research areas: (a) road and pavement design, (b) pavement materials and pavement performance evaluation, (c) road safety from an infrastructure perspective, (d) road infrastructure and emerging vehicle technologies, (e) driver–infrastructure interaction, and (f) road asset management and pavement maintenance.
