Conduct of basic/applied research and provision of services on the following topics: maritime hydraulics (waves, circulation, sea level variations); coastal engineering (coastal hydrodynamics and morphodynamics, coastal erosion and coastal flooding); integrated analysis/management/protection of coastal zones and Watershed-Coast Systems; estuarine dynamics; design of marine, coastal and harbour works; design and management of ports; climate change adaptation of coastal zones, coastal/harbour works and ports; development and implementation of computational models and new-technology tools for the study and design of the above.
